oLaf Program Scheduler

During this short project, I was brought in to the Disney team, to help adding new functionality to the pre-existing online scheduling & forecasting tool. So the challenge was to add the ability to schedule short term content; Five minutes or more; to the existing tool, which only allowed up to 30 minutes content. Besides this enhancement, also add Excel like features to the online grid. Part of the difficulty was, to add all these javascript/Jquery function within the SAS eco-system, without breaking any of the existing functions. I took this opportunity to create some modular Javascript functions, add new HTML templates using handlebars.js, and used some JQuery UI components to add automatic font size fitting and rendering abilities.

Speed Dial

Speed Dial was a prototype web application that was sponsored be Betaworks to automatically pull (or have sent to you) the top three news stories about a news vertical. We chose to play in the celebrity news space :) This web application was powered by Twitter api data engine, plus other layers to aggregate this data and pull the top trending topics by category. The project also used some data science libraries to filter out white noise and junk tweets, and pull the true top stories. This technology and functionality later went on to be used in building out Digg Categories and later the Digg Slack and Messenger Bots used by Digg.

IMP Inventory Management Dashboard

Worked on application prototyping to help IMP migrate the current application from MSSQL/.NET to Python, Django, and PostgreSQL database. During this project I had the opportunity to review the current database and come up with the database migration script from MS SQL Server database to Amazon RDS PostgreSQL database. I also had a chance to do an in depth analysis about the current performance issues and delete some unused data. I also added some database indexes and relationships to enforce data integrity and speed up some queries. After the database cleanup I created the application framework using Python, Django, and Bootstrap. I also developed a proof of concept dashboard that will eventually have all the functions present in the current system. Beside this I also implemented some other features like task queue using Celery and RabbitMQ, Application Mailer, Security, and PyTest for testing.

Baby Talk (Code Lab)

Baby Talk is one of my code lab projects, which I created after I got the inspiration from my 2 years old Son. One day I was plawing baby flashcards with my son, to teach him basic words. And then I got an idea to create a little web app that will let your choose a lesson for your baby, then play the flash cards in that lesson. Each lesson will consist of multiple flash cards, which will play in sequence. Each flash card consists of a picture, a text, and an audio that reads the text. In this project, I used Vue.js with text-to-speach browser API to speak the flash card word. Along javascript, I used vue-router, vue-resoure, animations, vuex and Firebase as the back-end. Store Locator (Cosmic JS - Code Lab)

Store Locator is an application that was commissioned by Cosmic JS. This application has two main features. The first one, is the search for stores and display the result in list like view. The second feature is to show the same list of location on a Google Map, with a marker for each one. Anytime the user select an item from the list, it will be highlighted in the map, and vice versa. The application can be configured to add more locations if needed. In this project, I used Vue.js, Vuex, and Vuetify for the frontend part. Garage Sale (Cosmic JS - Code Lab)

This application was mainly inspired by Offerup, Letgo, and Craigslist. Like Craigslist, LetGo allows you to buy and sell items locally, which means you don’t have to deal with the hassles of shipping like you would on eBay or Amazon. With 30 million users, it is more popular than OfferUp. LetGo has been featured in many commercial lately, so you may be more familiar with it as well. The only issue is that both apps are mobile apps available on both iPhone and Android platform, however there no PWA version. College Admin (Cosmic JS - Code Lab)

In this app, I built a single page web app with two parts. The first part will be a list of students. The list will be displayed in a table like structure with multiple columns for each student. Each column will correspond to a data attribute of the student record. The list will also have a summary line at the end that tells you the record count.The second part will be the filters that the user can use to filter the data with. Let's assume that the user can filter by any field displayed in the list. So to build generic filter functions, that can be used with multiple fields, we will need to group these filters by data type. And each data type will allow certain comparison operators. Crowd Pitch (Cosmic JS - Code Lab)

Single page app that allows you to showcase you digital products and accepts credit card payment online. Very similar to the marketing sales funnel, but done in simple single page sales funnel. What is a sales funnel? And why is it important? A sales funnel is a path that your website's visitors take before purchasing a product. If you don’t understand your sales funnel, you can’t optimize it. Building a great sales funnel can influence how visitors move through the funnel and whether they eventually convert. In this little demo I will be showing you how to build a simple, one-page sales funnel using Node JS, Cosmic JS, and Stripe for handling credit card payments.
